Concrete, steel or metal materials are some non-renewable materials. Those materials in a certain period of time will run out and can causing destructive effect to the nature itself. Therefore, nowaday experts have started to think of the alternative materials that will be used as reliable construction materials with several criteria such as sustainable, easy to obtain, economical, strong, have a positive social impact and environmental friendly.Bamboo has advantages in those aspects and meets the criterias as the future material as it's appropriate for natural sustainability. Indonesia as a tropical country became an ideal place for bamboo to growth maximally and holds enormous potential benefits in the building materials aspect. The existence of bamboo indirectly helps to repair the environmental damage that brings benefits to the welfare of present and future generations. However, Indonesia still needs a roadmap of research on various types of bamboo materials as a solution to the constraints encountered in the field.
