Therefore, efforts need to be made to increase the growth potential of stem cuttings, so natural growth regulators are needed that are effective for the formation of new shoots, roots and leaves. The aim of this research is to determine the influence and optimum concentration of growth regulators of shallot extract, coconut water, their combination on the growth of peppermint plants (Mentha piperita L.). This method uses a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 4 repetitions. The research results were analyzed using the One Way Anova test using the Post Hoc test, there was a significant influence on the growth of peppermint plants on the parameter number of leaves in the K5 treatment (a combination of 41% shallot extract + 100% coconut water), namely 53.75 strands and the number of roots in the K3 treatment ( 41% red onion extract, namely 32.25, root length parameters for treatment K2 (Rootone-f 100 ppm) and K5 (Combination of 41% red onion extract + 100% coconut water) namely 27.75 cm
Shintia Arinda, Esti Tyastirin, Risa Purnamsari Copyright (c) 2024 BIOMETRIC https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://jurnalsaintek.uinsby.ac.id/mhs/index.php/biometric/article/view/299 Sat, 30 Dec 2023 00:00:00 +0000 Perilaku Harian Babun Hamadryas (Papio hamadryas) dalam Konservasi Ex-Situ di Kebun Binatang Surabaya https://jurnalsaintek.uinsby.ac.id/mhs/index.php/biometric/article/view/301
Hamadryas baboons (Papio hamadryas) are distributed throughout the mountainous regions of northeastern Africa and southwest Arabia. Once distributed the Hamadryas baboon was widespread but gradually its distribution decreased and it was considered to be of least concern. This requires ex-situ conservation by knowing the daily behavior of the primate species Papio hamadryas to support the success of ex-situ conservation efforts so as to increase population numbers. The method used is observing behavioral patterns which include eating patterns, sleeping patterns, social activity patterns, and movement patterns from visual observations of changes in the activity of Hamadryas baboons carried out directly with the help of an image recording device, namely a handycam. The primates observed consisted of 4 individuals, including the alpha baboon, 1 female baboon, 2 female baboons, and 3 female baboons. The results obtained after observation were 248 male behaviors and 228 female baboons behaved the least, so it can be concluded that Male baboons are more active than females. And the behaviors obtained are eating, moving, social, resting and playing alone.
Ahmad Alfin Romzalis Alfin, Jihan Farhah Huwaidah Copyright (c) 2024 BIOMETRIC https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://jurnalsaintek.uinsby.ac.id/mhs/index.php/biometric/article/view/301 Sat, 30 Dec 2023 00:00:00 +0000 Penggunaan Media Pemupukan Terhadap Pertumbuhan Rumput Gajah Taiwan (Pennisetum purpureum cv. City parks are needed for interaction space between humans and the environment as well as a living space for flora and fauna, especially butterflies. Research on butterfly diversity is very important because the related data is still not comprehensive from various regions of Indonesia. This study aims to determine the level of diversity of butterflies as well as abiotic conditions in Taman Kota Surabaya. The data collection method combines the transect method and the VES (Visual Encounter Survey) method by tracing existing roads as well as counting and recording the number of species and individuals encountered. Butterflies that were found in the study were 12 species from 3 different families with a total of 178 individuals. The results of the butterfly diversity index were (H’) = 2.33, evenness (E) = 0.94, dominance (C) = 0.11. The abiotic factors at Taman Flora were classified as optimal, the temperature 29,6-30,9 °C the humidity 71-84% and light intensity 18342-22976 lux so that the environmental conditions at that location were good for the survival of the butterflies. The most commonly found species is Eurema hecabe and Leptosia nina.
Alvin Avada, Oki Rahmatirta Wibisana, Nirmala Fitria Firdhausi, Saiful Bahri Copyright (c) 2024 BIOMETRIC https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://jurnalsaintek.uinsby.ac.id/mhs/index.php/biometric/article/view/304 Sat, 30 Dec 2023 00:00:00 +0000 Analisis Keragaman Makrozoobentos Sebagai Bioindikator Kualitas Perairan Kali Pacal, Kabupaten Bojonegoro https://jurnalsaintek.uinsby.ac.id/mhs/index.php/biometric/article/view/306
Rivers are the most important source of water after wells for humans. Rivers are inland water ecosystems that are directly related to humans. Various community activities around the river can result in physical, chemical and biological changes in the waters. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity of macrozoobenthos and to determine Family Biotic Index in the Pacal River, Bojonegoro District. The type of research used in descriptive exploratory sampling method. The research was conducted in February – March 2023 by dividing the location into three stations with various habitat types. the data obtained was then identified and analysed using the Shannon-Wiener Index (H’), Evenness Index (E), Dominance Index (D), and Family Biotic Index (FBI). Based the observation, there were 8 species of macrozoobenthos with the two most species of being Pleurocera and Tubifex. The highest level of macrozoobenthos diversity was found in station 1 is H’=1,20. The highest evenness index in station 1 is E=0,67. The highest dominance index in station 3 is D=0,90. The highest Family Biotic Index in station 3 is FBI=7,89 which indicates that the waters at that station are heavily polluted by organic matter.
Alim Aulia Hana, Nirmala Fitria Firdhausi, Saiful Bahri Copyright (c) 2024 BIOMETRIC https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://jurnalsaintek.uinsby.ac.id/mhs/index.php/biometric/article/view/306 Sat, 30 Dec 2023 00:00:00 +0000 Peranan Ekstrak Teh (Camellia sinensis) sebagai Imunomodulator https://jurnalsaintek.uinsby.ac.id/mhs/index.php/biometric/article/view/307
This article reviews the immunomodulatory activity of various types of tea according to various literatures, then summarizes the modulation mechanism of the active compounds contained in these extracts on immune cells. Therefore, a study was conducted on the effect of a combination of manure and NPK fertilizer on the growth of cherry tomato plants (Solanum lycopersicum var. cerasiforme). This study aims to determine the effect of a combination of manure and NPK fertilizer on plant height and number of leaves on the growth of cherry tomato plants. The research method used was an experiment with a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 2 factors which were repeated 3 times. The first factor was giving POC doses with 4 levels, namely K0 = control, K1 = POC 4 ml/L, K2 = POC 8 ml/L, K3 = POC 12 ml/L. the second factor was the administration of NPK doses with 4 levels, namely N0 = control, N1 = NPK 20 g/L, N2 = NPK 25 g/L, N3 = NPK 30 g/L. parameters were observed for 12 weeks after planting. Data were analyzed using the One Way Anova test and the Kruskal-Wallis test with insignificant results, but optimal results were obtained for each parameter. The results showed that the N1K1 combination treatment gave optimal results for tomato plant height (148.33 cm). The N0K2 treatment gave optimal results on the number of leaves of tomato plants (144 leaves).
Hesti Hamidatus Shofi'ah, Esti Tyastirin, Saiful Bahri Copyright (c) 2024 BIOMETRIC https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://jurnalsaintek.uinsby.ac.id/mhs/index.php/biometric/article/view/308 Sat, 30 Dec 2023 00:00:00 +0000 Uji Efektivitas Ekstrak Daun Jambu Biji Daging Buah Putih (Psidium guajava L.) sebagai Antibakteri Vibrio parahaemolyticus secara In Vitro https://jurnalsaintek.uinsby.ac.id/mhs/index.php/biometric/article/view/312
Vibrio parahaemolyticus is a bacterial pathogen that can threaten the survival of marine organisms and cause gastroenteritis in humans. Initially, the spread of bacteria can be overcome by administering synthetic antibiotics. However, many abuses of these antibiotics can lead to bacterial resistance and residues in the aquatic environment so that natural ingredients are needed that can reduce side effects, such as guava leaves with white flesh (Psidium guajava L.). The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of guava leaf extract with white flesh as an antibacterial against Vibrio parahaemolyticus in vitro. This research was a true experimental study consisting of 4 concentration treatments and 2 control treatments with 4 replications. Data analysis used the Kruskal Wallis test and the Mann Whitney test. The results showed that the four concentrations had the potential to inhibit bacterial growth with a diameter of 6.25 mm, 7.875 mm, 8.75 mm and 10.85 mm respectively with medium and strong inhibition responses. However, the four concentrations did not show bacterial growth of less than 50 colonies and did not show any negative colony growth so the conclusion of this study was guava leaf extract with white pulp has effectiveness in inhibiting the growth of Vibrio parahaemolyticus bacteria but cannot kill the bacteria.
Fitri Ayu Lestari, Saiku Rokhim, Ita Ainun Jariyah Copyright (c) 2024 BIOMETRIC https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://jurnalsaintek.uinsby.ac.id/mhs/index.php/biometric/article/view/312 Sat, 30 Dec 2023 00:00:00 +0000
