Vibrio parahaemolyticus is a bacterial pathogen that can threaten the survival of marine organisms and cause gastroenteritis in humans. Initially, the spread of bacteria can be overcome by administering synthetic antibiotics. However, many abuses of these antibiotics can lead to bacterial resistance and residues in the aquatic environment so that natural ingredients are needed that can reduce side effects, such as guava leaves with white flesh (Psidium guajava L.). The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of guava leaf extract with white flesh as an antibacterial against Vibrio parahaemolyticus in vitro. This research was a true experimental study consisting of 4 concentration treatments and 2 control treatments with 4 replications. Data analysis used the Kruskal Wallis test and the Mann Whitney test. The results showed that the four concentrations had the potential to inhibit bacterial growth with a diameter of 6.25 mm, 7.875 mm, 8.75 mm and 10.85 mm respectively with medium and strong inhibition responses. However, the four concentrations did not show bacterial growth of less than 50 colonies and did not show any negative colony growth so the conclusion of this study was guava leaf extract with white pulp has effectiveness in inhibiting the growth of Vibrio parahaemolyticus bacteria but cannot kill the bacteria.
