Abstract

Plants as herbal medicines in the form of traditional medicine have been recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) for the treatment of cancer and degenerative diseases. The purpose of this study was to determine the yield value and compounds of secondary metabolites from temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza), black turmeric (Curcuma aeruginosa) and black cumin (Nigella sativa) extracts. The maceration process uses distilled water for 3x24 hours. The results of this study showed that the % yield sequentially on temulawak, black rhizome and black cumin was 11.65%; 3.69% and 6.60%. The phytochemical test qualitatively showed positive for flavonoids, alkaloids, steroids, tannins and saponins
