Effect of Terra Preta As A Growing Medium For Pakcoy Germination

Abstract

Some farmers also use pesticides to eradicate pests on their crops without thinking about the effects that chemicals will have on the ecosystem balance in the soil. In addition, sprayers are only temporary for plants. Biochar is a soil amendment that has many roles to increase soil fertility and increase plant growth. Biochar itself is also referred to as an ameliorant material which functions in the amelioration process, which is an effort made to improve soil conditions by using the application of organic matter. Terra preta is a fertile black soil due to the addition of biochar. The benefit of this study aims to determine the effect of various types of soil with terra preta media as a growth medium for plants. The results of this study indicate the influence of terra preta media as a growth medium for plants.
