Abstract

Water spinach (Ipomoea reptans Poir) is one of the most popular horticultural commodities that is widely cultivated. In Indonesia, the consumption rate of water spinach is higher than the production rate. The factors that affect the production of water spinach plants are environmental factors, watering, planting media and fertilization. This study aims to determine the effect of giving bean sprout extract (Vigna radiata) on the growth of water spinach (Ipomoea reptans Poir). This study was designed in a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments with 3 repetitions, namely control (K-), 100 ml of phonska fertilizer solution (K+), 10 ml of bean sprout extract/100 ml of water (K1), 20 ml of extract bean sprouts/100 ml of water (K2), 30 ml of bean sprouts extract/100 ml of water (K3). The results showed that bean sprout extract had a significant effect on plant height with a significance value (0.000) and number of leaves (0.038). The optimum dose of bean sprout extract for the number of leaves is 20 ml/100 ml. And 100 ml of phonska fertilizer solution, 10 ml of bean sprouts extract/100 ml of water, 20 ml of bean sprouts extract/100 ml of water, 30 ml of bean sprouts extract/100 ml of water is a significant treatment for plant height.
