Abstract

Cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.) is a horticultural plant that has many uses, one of which is as a cooking spice. The low chili production in Indonesia has caused the price of chili to rise in the market. Therefore, efforts are needed to increase the growth of cayenne pepper. One of them is by giving growth regulators such as auxin and gibberellins. This study aims to determine the effect of the combination of auxin and gibberellins on the growth of cayenne pepper. The design used in this study was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 25 treatments and 2 replications using concentrations of auxin and gibberellins 0,50,100,150, and 200 ppm which were combined. The research data were analyzed using Kruskall-Wallis. Research showed that there was no effect of the combinations of auxin and gibberellins on all growth parameters of cayenne pepper. Treatment 17 (auxin 150 ppm, gibberellins 50 ppm) showed the best result on the parameters of plant height, number of leaves, time of anthesis, and number of flower with successive results 21,46 cm, 18,9 pieces, 35,5 days, and 3,94 pieces. While the number of fruit parameters showed the best results in the treatment 7 (auxin 50 ppm, gibberellins 50 ppm) as many as 43,5 pieces.
