Abstract

In Indonesia, there are about 515 species of mammals in the world. Rodentia is a small mammal that causes damage to almost all food crops, plantations, rice fields and horticulture. There are approximantrly 150 species of rats scattered in Indonesia. Damage caused by rats on rice plants reaches 17% per year, food losses are around 24 million Indonesians. The aim of the study was to find out what species of rodentia are found on agricultural land in the village of Domas Gresik. The research was conducted in April 2021 and sample identification was carried out in the field dan laboratory. This research is a quantitative descriptive type using incidental sampling technique on 5 fields with 8 traps installed at each location. The identification process is carried out by matching the result of morphometric measurements in the identification book and data obtained were analyzed based on the diversity index. The catch found 6 types of rodentia species including Bandicota bengalensis, Bandicota indica, Rattus argentiventer, Rattus norvegicus, Rattus tanezumi and Rattus tiomanicus. The highest level of diversity was at the location of rice fields and tubers in Kebondalem (H'=0.79) and the lowest was at the location of Teak Kebondalem (H'=0.23).
