Keywords:
extraction, phytochemical screening, Polyalthia longifoliaAbstract
Glodokan tiang leaf (Polyalthia longifolia) is one of the plants from the Annonaceae family which has pharmacological activity as hepatoprotective, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, anti-hyperglycemic, antibacterial and antimicrobial. This activity is due to the content of metabolites contained in the plant. Environmental factors have an influence on secondary metabolites contained in a plant. This study aimed to determine the phytochemical content found in young and old leaves of glodokan tiangĀ (Polyalthia longifolia) by using phytochemical screening. The result showed that the ethanol extract of the leaves of Polyalthia longifolia contains a class of flavonoid compounds, tannins, saponins, alkaloids and phenols.
