Abstract

Pentol is a kind of meatball processed but has a more flour composition. Pentol can be contaminated with bacteria. Bacteria that are often found in unhygienic food are Salmonella sp. Salmonella sp. is parameters of contamination in food and can cause disease, one of which is diarea. This study aims to determine the presence or absence of contamination Salmonella sp. on pentols sold around the Sunan Ampel State Islamic University. This research is descriptive. In testing on the identification of Salmonella sp. using SSA media which was then followed by biochemical tests which is TSIA. The results showed that of the 5 samples tested, there were 2 positive samples of Escherichia coli and 4 positive samples of Salmonella sp.
